Welcome to the Dignity Revolution Challenge: Middle School & High School Edition!

Below are resources to use for all the Core Activities as you go through the Dignity Revolution Challenge: Middle and High School Edition. Also there are PDF’s of all the activity pages for your use. Dignity Ribbons ★ create a visual reminder that more than one out of five students (20%) report being bullied at any given time. To demonstrate this statistic, a magnetic ribbon is placed on every fifth locker.1

S.P.E.C.I.E.S. ★ gives students time to assess the seven areas of their wellness through the use of an engaging assessment tool. It identifies how bullying impacts all seven areas of wellness.

Active Listening  ★ explores behaviors that require listening to understand and having conversations with peers.

Mission Possible

Mission Possible uses balloons, markers, and group interaction to help students understand the social, emotional, and physical impact stress and bullying can have on our health. It is important for students to identify signs and health risks so they can manage it in a healthy way.

Dice Game ★ helps students improve interpersonal communication skills through the use of dice, which enables them to discover and share authentic emotions and feelings.

Untangled ★ uses yarn and a touch of magic to demonstrate the steps needed to intervene when one is the target of bullying or harassment.

Mission Possible 2 ★ demonstrates the impact that authentic affirmations have on a person’s health and well-being. Affirmations strengthen the mind, change the direction of thoughts for the better, and help the body to achieve a better state of health.

Bonding Bandages ★ challenges students to change the prominent negativity in our society by being positive with their thoughts, words, and actions for a minimum of 24 hours through the use of a bandage as a visual aid.

Bullying Stories creates space to learn how to prevent, intervene, and report a bullying event. Students will also experience how choosing to be an upstander and giving affirmations positively impacts another person as well as an entire community.

Letter from Paula ★ highlights a letter written from a high student named Paula to her friends. Students will identify red flags, warning signs for suicide or self-harm, and create an intervention plan by accessing reliable and valid resources.

T4: The System Dehumanizes People lesson discusses dehumanization that occurred during Holocaust. After discussing the horrors of the Holocaust students are challenged to make a positive difference and stand up against today’s injustices by taking action.

Dignity Pledge ★ is designed to be administered at the end of the Dignity Revolution Challenge. It asks students to make a personal commitment to the Dignity Pledge by standing up for the value of every person.
