Choices

There is something wrong in our nation today. Anytime someone gets caught doing something wrong, it’s never their fault. Don’t get me wrong, I love our country, but there is something wrong. We are the only place in the world were someone can sue McDonald’s for being overweight. “This isn’t my fault. I was in the car and I saw the arches, and something took me over! It was like a magnetic pull. It just kept pulling me and before I knew it, I found myself in the drive-through. It was like something took over my voice and I said, ‘Four big macs please.’ And then I went through again, and again, and again.” I know that sounds really dumb, but look where it goes.

Two guys in California confessed to killing their parents in cold blood, but the first jury couldn’t find them guilty because they had been abused as kids. Please, if you knew me personally, you would see one of the first things I would rip out of society, if I could, would be child abuse. No kid, no child deserves to be abused. And if I couldn’t stop everyone I would make sure everyone was brought to justice. But if we say that every person who has been hurt in the past has the right to take the law into their own hands, society is only going to get worse. Please hear me: I can’t find a talk that will take away your pain. I can’t find a talk that will take away all your problems. I can’t find a talk that will take away all of your past. But you have to know this: you don’t have to let your problems, your past, or your pain take away your choices. You still have a choice.

If you don’t have a choice, get help.

If you don’t, that’s when there is a problem. Get some help. See I’m not here to tell you what to do, but if you don’t have some help – if you don’t have a choice, get some help.
